Dear Members,At our most recent Board of Governors meeting, we reviewed a few operational items and approved several changes to help improve golf operations for the remainder of the season. The goal is to create a better experience for everyone and ensure consistency in our processes. On weekends, starting Saturday, August 8th, we’ll be testing the following updates:1. Tee Time RequestsWe’ve created a dedicated email account to handle all weekend tee time requests: [email protected].
Now that we have three individuals in the ProShop, we want to funnel all electronica tee times requests away from their emails and to one main source. This will help eliminate any possible confusion and ensure requests are seen and recorded via email.Tee times requests are due by noon on Wednesday at which time, the Pro Shop Staff will populate the tee sheet. Weekend tee times are blocked to prevent tee times being made in error outside of our normal process.Members can also continue to fill out a tee time card in person or call the Pro Shop to submit a request over the phone.
2. Check-In ExpectationsWe’ve noticed a trend: members are starting their rounds of play without checking in at the pro shop. Please be sure to check in with the pro shop before heading out. Tyler or the cart stand are not check-in points. This is not just for accountability, it’s a safety and security measure so our team knows who is on the course at all times.
3. Use of GGID ScorecardsGoing forward, the pro shop will provide GGID scorecards for all Saturday & Sunday rounds. These cards offer multiple benefits:Help us better track players on the course.Automatically post scores to GHIN, helping maintain accurate handicaps. And most importantly - track pace of play.
GGID timestamps each group’s round. We’ve seen weekend rounds averaging 4:15 to 4:20, and while delays happen, our goal is to bring 18-hole rounds closer to 4 hours or less. This will help ensure better spacing for all groups and a more enjoyable experience across the board. If certain players or groups are consistently taking longer, we may ask them to either adjust their pace or shift to later time slots.
Implementation NotesThe Pro Shop Staff are on board and ready to assist with these transitions. One challenge we foresee is groups changing at the last minute, in which case we will update your scorecard if time allows. To better assist you, please communicate changes as soon as possible. Score cards will be printed the day before at 3pm. These updates are being introduced with full support from the Board of Governors and our Golf Chair. We appreciate your cooperation and encourage you to reach out with any questions or feedback.Thank you for your support as we continue to elevate your experience at Conestoga.
Sincerely, Robert Leeman, Head Golf Pro - [email protected] Zach Caruso, Golf Committee Chair - [email protected] |
